Privacy
Kwento lets guests at a party add photos and short videos to one shared album. This page says what we keep, who can see it, and when it is deleted.
Our promise
Real photos from real people. No face recognition, never used to train AI.
- No face recognition. Ever.
- Your photos are never used to train AI, by us or anyone else.
- No AI that edits your photos or creates new images. What's on the screen is real.
- Only an automatic safety check that stops inappropriate images, so nothing wrong appears on the screen at kids' parties or company events. It does not recognise people and keeps nothing. Not yet switched on: see below.
- Your photos are deleted automatically after the agreed period. Not yet automatic: see "How long we keep it".
- At events with children, the shared album is off by default. (Children's parties, christenings and debuts; the organizer can turn it on.)
About the safety check, honestly: it is not switched on yet. Today no automatic check looks at any photo, and the organizer decides what is shown. When we add it, it will use Microsoft's Azure AI Content Safety, which according to Microsoft does not store the images it checks, does not use them to train its models and does not let people at Microsoft look at them. This page will say when it is on.
What we collect
- Photos and videos you choose to add. Nothing is uploaded until you tap Upload.
- Your name and a short message, only if you type them. Both are optional.
- The time the photo was taken, read from the photo, so the album can be put in order.
- A random code for your phone, kept on your phone, so you can see and delete your own uploads. It is not your phone number or any account.
- Ordinary technical records: like any website, our servers keep logs of requests for up to 30 days: what was asked for and when, and the kind of browser. These logs do not keep your internet address (we checked this on our test service on 25 October 2026, and check it again when the live service starts). We use the logs to find faults and to stop abuse, not to find out who you are. To limit abuse we also keep a scrambled value made from an address or a phone code, which cannot be turned back into either; it is deleted automatically within one hour. Our hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, keeps its own technical records under its own terms.
- Mail you send us at hello@kwento.photos passes through Cloudflare's email forwarding on its way to us.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your location is removed
Photos often carry the place they were taken (GPS), the phone model and other hidden details. For a photo, your phone removes all of that before anything is sent; the only detail kept is the time it was taken. A photo that cannot be cleaned is not sent at all. For a video, your phone removes the place it was filmed before sending.
Who can see what
- The organizer of the party can see every photo, video, name and message in their album, and can download them.
- Other guests can see the shared album only if the organizer has turned it on for that party.
- The live screen shows photos only. Names and messages are not shown on it. Showing them, only after a check and only if the organizer allows it, comes later; this page will say when.
- Kwento stores the files for the organizer. We do not look at your photos, sell them, or use them to train anything.
- Files are stored with Microsoft Azure in Southeast Asia (Singapore).
How long we keep it, and what happens at the end
- Guests can add photos until the album closes, on the date the organizer chose. Photos that were already waiting on a phone may still arrive in the week after; nothing new is accepted.
- The album is kept for the period of the organizer's plan (three, six or twelve months), and then deleted: photos, videos, messages and guest names. The organizer is reminded 30, 14 and 3 days before.
- Not yet automatic: this deletion and its reminders are still being built. Until they run, nothing is deleted automatically; an organizer who wants the album deleted earlier can ask us at the address below. This page will say when it is automatic.
A photo or video you delete yourself disappears from the album straight away. For seven days it can still be brought back, in case you tapped by mistake. After that it is removed the next time the album is opened, and our storage keeps removed files for at most seven more days as a safety net; then it is gone for good.
Your rights
- You can delete your own uploads yourself, on the same phone, until the album closes.
- You can ask us to remove a photo or video of you that someone else uploaded, even if you did not upload it. Write to the address below with the link to the party and a description of the photo.
- You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
- If you believe your data has been handled wrongly you may complain to the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines.
